I certainly think that it's an unfortunate attempt for the Iranian government to hold some leverage over the international community. As you have pointed out, they have been taking heat for individuals and weaponry coming over the border into Iraq and also for their nuclear testing plus disregard for the U.N.'s opinion of the latter matter. Granted, the U.S. should have no power in deciding who should have nuclear weapons and who shouldn't, but thinking about Iran possessing nuclear weaponry is a very scary thought. Hoping for the best for your countrymen (and woman in this instance) Steve.
The impression that we're getting in Canada is that it's a farce also........ the "confessions" are not even that........ each Brit that I've seen talking keeps refering to coordinates that they were given by the Iranians..... I've heard no admition of guilt from the Brits and rightly so. They're innocent in my opinion.
Looks like they're going to be freed now..... you can read all the iranian crap that was spouted here. http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/World/2007/04/04/3915732-ap.html
Based on this morning's reports, it looks like they're caving under the guise of "a gift" to the British.
he even scolds Blair for making a mother serve and tells the british that they don't have family values.. *LOL*
Glad it all got sorted out peacefully.... at least until the next time. How gracious of the Iranian PM to be generous enough to give such a "gift to the British people". The lads even got new suits out of it too, but it looks like suits for women in Iran are currently out of stock!
What wonderful news to wake up to this morning! Interesting that they were released on the eve of one of the more prominant Christian celebrations.
