Bringing Prescription Meds.....

    So... i went to Mexico three years ago and when we got into Mexico they checked your prescription medicine. I usually cary all my meds in a pill box with out the RX labels. DO i need to bring the bottles? Do they still check that kind of stuff? Thanks

    i'd recomend you leave them in the bottles they come in even though you dont need to have all o fthem with you. or maybe just take out wha tyou dont need and just take what you need in the bottles.

    if they cant tell what yorue carrying it could lead to trouble

    They may or may not check your meds...depends if you get the red or green light at Customs.

    If you get the green light you'll just pass through so they won't even know you have the meds with you.

    If you get the red light ad they search your luggage it depends on how thorough a search they do.

    But, technically, you are required to have all of your prescription medications in the original prescription bottles they came in. If they are then they are subjet to being seized.

    And remember, that even once you have passed through Customs red or green light) theycan still check your bags as you're walking to the exit.

    So bottom line is that you should make sure your meds are in the bottles they came in just to be on the safe side and avoid any hassles.

    i just dont know what to do with one of my prescriptions because my doctor gave me two months free so i dont have the RX label with it. i guess i can just hide them just in case

    Put them in a Tylenol bottle.....but, of course, you didn't here that from me. :wink:

    will they not look inside it if its an over-the-counter med? because these pills look nothing like tylenol.

    It really just depends on how thorough the person is that is doing the search.

    Can you just use whatever conatiner the doctor gave them to you in?

    well i guess i can but it doesnt really say anything on it. i think i might have my old bottle somewhere so i will try to look for it. i just dont want them taking it away because it doesnt have all the information on it.
