Confirmed, Only place your allowed topless is on the sunbeds. Not in the pool. This is the information I received when I asked the resort directly on 2 separate times. That's why we just booked TTR. T-minus 27 days.
So I know this was verbally confirmed, but has anyone been to the resort since this thread started to see how it has actually played out?
Yes we were there last month and can confirm that topless is allowed on the deck chairs and lounge beds only in the party pool area. That includes around the large hot tub. That said we didn’t see many ladies topless. My wife did take hers off one day on the beds, but commented that all the cameras (mostly selfies/insta-posers) thatwere constantly out made her nervous.
We were just looking at booking Breathless for a trip in October and these new topless rules are rediculous! Looks like we are heading back to Excellence Playa Mujeres. While they don't have a topless pool, topless at the beach and ocean are completely accepted! Last August spent an hour or so each day on the beach, and walking the beach, in the ocean (well, drinking in waist deep water) sans top with no concerns. We were looking for a place that was more open minded, but back to EPM in 4 weeks! Thanks for sharing about Breathless.
Just to be clear: Your wife can be topless at the beach. Your wife can be topless at the party pool on the deck. Your wife just cannot be topless in the party pool. In other words, not much differences than EPM, except your wife can be topless around one pool area. Yes, still a dumb rule. FYI, my wife and I went to Breathless Punta Cana earlier this month. There were ZERO topless ladies all week we were there, but no signs saying what you could and could not do.
