did you get to see the fight on Saturday? If not you missed an excellent finish, Taylor was all over Froch for 7 rounds, then Froch came back, won 3 of the next four but was behind on 2/3 of the judges scoredcards by four points, so he stepped it up in the last and knocked him to the canvas for an 8 count, with a sweet right hook and then with 14 seconds left he went to work on him, repeatedly hitting him clean in the face, so much so that the referee had no choice but to stop the fight, Taylor didn't know what had hit him, looked very confused. There were three Englishmen and one American (English at heart) standing and screaming at the TV, the few americans behind us that were supporting Taylor all of a sudden went quiet!! The best finish to a fight i've ever seen and one of the best fights i've watched since Lennox Lewis experienced the most one sided judging i've ever witnessed when he pummeled Holyfield for 12 rounds and they called it a draw (well Don King and some brown envelopes called it a draw!!) Looking forward to next weeks fight, also I believe in June or July we have David 'Haymaker' Haye vs one of the Klitschko brothers in a heavyweight world title fight, should be a classic after Haye went to the press conference with a t-shirt showing him holding the ripped off heads of the two brothers in his hands with bloody bodies on the floor! That's one way to get to them, gotta love his style, says he's come to shake up the division, about time they had a good heavyweight grudge match!
Sam: I missed out, but my brother recorded it with SopCast - hes sending it to me today, hopefully So far it looks good regarding Saturdays fight. Im waiting to see if by any chance I would have to work, but thats seems highly unlikely They are showing it on the regular TV Azteca as well, lets just hope its not a scam as I have witnessed several of them since coming here... Some event has been advertised and then just ... pooof! Gone. Im not a big fan of the heaviest weight class - its to darn slow, and they just go on and on, hugging each other However, I do need to get a look at the t-shirt, haha! I like speed, stamina and clean fights Saturday should be great!! Talk to you later. ps. Do you happen to know when Khans next fight is? Cant get enough of that kid - truly amazing!!
Theres only oneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Ricky Hatton....oneeeeeeeeeeeeee Ricky Hatton....Walkin along....singin a song....walkin in a Hatton Wonderland!!!! I'm cheering on Ricky....if you didnt notice
Looks like the boxing get together is off at La Taberna anyway, i'm hearing restaurants are to be closed, all across Q.Roo, if anyone can confirm this, please let me know, thanks
A plane just flew by best day with the banner on the back saying bubba gump and outback are open - I think most places will be.
Just 3 mins ago on the news they said that ALL public venues(bars, pool halls etc.) will be closed Good thing is that the fight IS on Azteca 7! The first suspected case was just said that its not confirmed to be the flu... So much crap going on in the media right now - unbelievable.
Just had a look and Cadena 3 has a 10pm Saturday listing for Boxing Special, my wife said she keeps seeing adverts on Azteca, so i searched and found this... Wow.... Manny never got caught and that meant the end of it for Ricky... The last hit was amazing. I enjoyed the fights before as well, and Omar Chavez shows that he can become something special. I really enjoyed Kolorov(spelling??) - This guy can also be something great! Great record and very hard punches. Sad thing was that the event was posted as "live" in the commercials, but when I switched over to Super Sabado(Televisa) they just started showing the highlights from the fight, some 40 mins before its was on Tv Azteca, but I changed back before I saw anything It was a massacre... Not a fight. Will be interesting to see what the future holds for both guys.
What an anti-climax! Hat's off to Manny who was outstanding, okay Ricky decided not to defend but anyone would have been knocked out with such a devastating left hook, best punch i've seen for years, all i could say on Saturday was WOW and that i bet alot of people who paid $50 for that fight were pissed! Hatton was out cold, that's a proper KO and very sad to see a great fighter made to look very amateur by someone who will become a legend in the ring, let's just hope that Manny now gets the fight he deserves against Floyd Mayweather and Floyd finally get's knocked out by someone, I think that would be a great fight and am sure all of the UK would be behind Manny Pacquiao.
