I was planning on going to Puerto Morelos tomorrow to go to the big bookstore (Alma Libre). I just saw on their website that they are closed for the season?? Can anyone who lives there verify if they are actually closed? I was really looking forward to going...

    Thanks!

I can't definitively confirm that they're closed, but I do know that they're only open seasonally...from Nov. to April if I'm not mistaken.

Not as much of an adventure, but do check out Needful Things on Coba. They have an awesome selection.

The owners were posting here a month ago about their FM3 renewal hassles. And I know they delayed going home because of that hassle. So I'm sure they are gone. And I also believe that they keep their web site pretty well up to date.

Thanks guys. I've been to Needful Things several times, but was hoping to check out something different. Guess I'll have to wait for their next "season". Thanks!

    Closed

    Hola,

Sorry we're closed, we'll open again sometime in October with a bunch of new books to choose from...in addition to the 20,000 we already have!

We run the bookstore seasonally. We normally October through the end of May, but we sometimes tweak the opening and closing dates.

Not trying to send you away from being an Alma Libre customer but I am sure my friend Rob would understand that if you need a book before October and not be mad at me for suggesting Nancy's store on Coba, to the left of La Creperia. I know it has a name but it is easier to say where it is than to remember the name and then say where it is.

She recently doubled the size of the store and it is full of new inventory already.

Needful things, and it is a bit hidden, so yes, better to know where it is

Thanks guys! I've been to Needful Things several times and always find something...was just wanting to check out a new place. Guess I'll continue to enjoy Cancun's bookstore and wait for Puerto Morelos to open up in a few months... :D
