It was for 2 people, whereas other places where per person. I emailed customer service to clarify so once I hear back I will post here and send you a message as well.
this is straight from the website.. Temptation Resort and Spa PS KUKULKAN KM1.5 CANCUN 77500 14th April 2012 (7 Nights) 2 Adults, 0 Children Double Deluxe All Inclusive Accommodation $875.26 Deposit price payable today: $175.05 Total price: $875.26
We paid about $1800 for flight and hotel through the Temptation Resort website flight + hotel link. I think it ended up being expedia. When I looked on other sites, the cost was the same. Where they screw up is when you want the Temptation Suite or Drops of Love, they don't charge it correctly without booking through the hotel (or doing an upgrade separately, which is what we did). We are flying from Seattle on Continental (United) and had to pay a few hundred more to get flights that were not red eye or + 1 day arrival (or spend 5-7 hours in the middle of the night in some airport). Booking in Oct. was a good deal compared to after New Years (we looked into coming for our anniversary in February and it adds about $700 to the cost). We upgraded to the Temptation Suite from the jacuzzi suite for only $40 per day more, and paid about $500 for the drops of love package for 5 days. It is my husband's birthday so I wanted it to be very special! The suite was available on the Temptation website, but not when you try to book the flight with the hotel. I just called the hotel and paid for the upgrades separately (they also wanted to charge $700 per night for drops of love on that booking site - wtf?!). We were going to go to Las Vegas for Michael's birthday and found we were going to save money and have a much better vacation at Temptation - so glad I bothered to look at other alternatives (just for kicks).
The +1 day and red eyes - Here is a problem when booking online, sometime there is an extra day added to the beginning or end or both that you have to watch for. I saw this on Bookit and called and they fixed it for us last year. Your flight takes off on the 1st (red eye) arrives on the 2nd. You stay 4 nights (till the 5th) you take off on the 6th. (remember your paid nights would be 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th) but your trip is the 1st though the 6th. I will also try to get he cost of the different rooms available for booking as well.
Alpharooms - don't worry it's all good! Thing with alpharooms is they are a UK company, aimed primarily at the UK Market. But since they have a website on the Internet anyone (regardless of country) with an Internet connection can access their site and make a reservation. The way things work is that Cancun hotel prices (all Cancun hotels do this not just TTR) targeted to the UK market are lower than those aimed at the North American market. Brits have a much longer (more expensive) flight and for Cancun to remain competitive with the many closer vacation options available to Brits such as the Mediterranean then hotels in Cancun need to offer a lower price in order to make the whole package price reasonable. We have weekends away at various hotels around the region, and guess who I book with, yeah Alpharooms. I've also used them for hotels in the UK, Spain and France. I always check their prices first. It's not much different to buying a pair of Armani jeans. People from the UK will order them from the US because they are half the price than buying them in the UK. Having different prices for different parts of the World worked out ok when you bought your vacation from a high street travel agent, or your jeans from a high street clothes shop. Not so much now The Internet changes things, you really should use that to your advantage!
So Steve that $125 is for 2 people per day? I did not see a link on your site to alpharooms, are you still associated with them?
That seems to be right based on Partydollgirl's post above. It will probably vary based on what dates you have in mind though. Yes, I'm still associated with Alpharooms. There is a link in my signature and also anytime the word Alpharooms is posted the forum software will automatically turn it into a link to them.
Although this belongs in the Cabo thread. I do not see that alpharooms has any listings for TTR Cabo. Skoosh is sky high now for 3/29/12 - 4/6/12.
I booked through sears travel and paid $1580 for flight, hotel, all inclusive including all transfers. thats for two people in a deluxe room which I believe is really just the standard room.
we did our booking separately. we found a very reasonable cheap fare for the hotel only a german (ISO certified!!) hotel platform. to find out the right, cheap(est) and most convenient flight connection took indeed a while. from hamburg there is"nt a direct flight, so always it is with min 1 stop via duesseldorf, munich or frankfurt ... only two airline operators (air berlin and condor) sharing the market, thus their flights are expensive. finally found and fixed with AIRFRANCE via PARIS at abt 500 bucks/person less. compared to the cheapest "ALL IN" tour operator we saved a fortune. so to check and book separately makes sense and the holidays feels much more comfortable!
