Steve, I'd flip that deposit to a 50/50 non-refundable unless the cruise is cancelled. If you use PayPal payment services, they have a very merchant-friendly refund program and everything.

One suggestion I would give as well to assure that the communications occur appropriately would be to set up some sort of telephone "hotline" that you can call locally to see if your cruise is on or not. I've cruised twice in the Bahamas with Powerboat Adventures - this is a speedboat service that goes to a private island in the Exuma chain about 50 miles from Nassau. They have a "status hotline" that is simply a voicemail recording with the status of your cruise. You can call that to find out your status.

Their financial policy is also 100% upfront, and if you miss your cruise, you lose your money.

I saw but not sure what we will be doing next April. We did like cabos and I am sure if you all go there it will be fun too. Love the hot tub on the roof there. It's a much quieter resort though.

I'm curious about that. What about this resort makes it "quieter"? The pool activities? Nightlife at the disco, bars?

I think the fact that Chinos isn't there makes it quieter *L*

While we could not physically make the 2/28 BC, we would have gladly paid at least a deposit for the trip. I felt bad about not getting there but Mrs. was "ralphing" badly. I say take at least something through Paypal, like 50% and that will make eliminate a $$$ loss on your part hopefully. We sure missed a great day......

My guess and it's only a guess, many people around the world are currently being affected by natural disaters. Here (U.S.) we have floods and tornadoes which make it impossible for many to plan a vacation when they're trying to put they're life back together. Across the world they have a valcano that limits some, not all, flight traffic. Many people have had thier plans ruined by these events. I have read a few post about it on here, that doesn't include those that don't know about this page, yet.

Steve, I spoke to a few people due to go on that cruise and they confirmed they were told the day before that it was cancelled. There was no red flag either, it was yellow that day and for 3 days prior. Think someone took it upon themselves to assume it was cancelled just because others had been cancelled the 2 days previous.
It was such a pity as we all know you put in a lot of hard work qrganising these.

Steve just want to say that if in the future you find a way to make the trip pre pay or require a deposit we would be fine with it...actually seems logical in light of the hassle this has become with people not following through on attending. Thanks as always for all you do for everyone that uses CC.

We had never heard of Cancuncare until we were at TTR in March and met a couple who invited us on this infamous "Boobs Cruise". We went and had an absolutly amazing day! We met several other couples that day and partyed most of the week with all of them. We have decided that we will, without a doubt, take another cruise next year (if it is still running). We also have no problem paying either a deposit or the whole fee, in advance. Other excursions require it so why not this one? Its a sad reality that some ppl are just spoiled and rude and only think about themselves.
