I agree with 100% ..Steve... I have been on 3 of your booze cruises in the last 4 years at BBG/Temptations..I had a BLAST!! And i also know that you work hard to get them off the ground. Sorry to hear about the no shows..That does suck...I'd like to get one going for the 29th but i can see the interest is low...so i understand when you call it cancelled...I guess there is always next year......Plus have a nice time on your days at Temptations!!!:icon_lol:

Well Steve, having just come off a spring break trip with my wife and kids on a Royal Carribbean cruise to Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios, I can say that on the three shore excursions, not only were they pay in advance, but pay WAY in advance. Not having done one of your cruises, honestly I'm really surprised to hear you say it is cash on departure, not pre-paid in advance on a credit card.

If I were in your shoes (and I am not so feel free to just forget this advice), I'd set up a quick Yahoo! e-commerce store for the express purpose of this. You can create your registration form custom there that would capture both someone's Cancuncare.com identity as well as their real name, and of course process their cards.

It's all about skin in the game, and no matter how honorable you EXPECT people to be, people often are not honorable. But if they have money on the line, they get very honorable very quickly.

So glad that we're all on board (pardon the pun) with this. We have gone on a few of Steve's cruises (and it was great how he said Joycee.. only a few other people do so and it is one of her favorite nicknames- sorry I digress)... including the infamous 2 boat one (Yes Steve there were 20+ no shows as you stated, but we still had a helluva time!). Anyway, there's no excuse for stupid people. Paying up front would be not be an issue for many of us. No refunds except when there are either hazardous sailing conditions or a death in the family would be one way to go... if the cat goes out and you're not there... oh well- you snooze, ya lose.

    Dear Steve,

I just wanted to let you know that being a new person to Temptation and to Cancuncare, I was in the lobby around 8 or 8:15. I asked someone at the information counter where I needed to be I was sent down to the marina right off the side of the resort, after asking around at the marina I was told the cruise was cancelled. I didnt realize that they had there own cruise at the resort and yours was seperate untill later that day once I spoke to some of the guys on here. I hope you accept my apology, and can forgive my ignorance in this matter. I will be returning to Temptation in the future and this will not happen again. Your cruise was the one thing I really was looking forward to doing.

in your defense - the harbor master had called off all boat under 45 feet from floating and if i were going to have made an assumption that morning - the assumption would have obviously been that there was not going to be a cruise that morning

also for the newbs whom have never met steve, the resort has a tendency to steer people towards their own boats

i think this is where the suggestion i used earlier would come into play and help this situation a ton

simply have one person serve as steves voice at the resort - he could contact steve daily until the morning of the cruise and he could keep the group informed

we have done this on all of ours ---------- and like i said we get 100 percent every time

if something works - just saying - there might be a reason

    Steve,

I do really hope that you give those of us who are reliable another shot. Schedules have not yet worked out for us to be there during a booze cruise day but we are keeping our fingers crossed for the next trip.

Where we live if you book reservations at a nice restaurant you put down a credit card number that is only billed upon a no show. That way your costs are covered and even if only 13 people show up the ship can sail. I know there is trust involved that you would not utilize this information in an inappropriate manner, but since your forum and business depend on you treating this information delicately, I trust that it may just work.

    sorry to hear that

    Steve:

I must say some of the best memories we have from cancun are from the cruises you have done .....we always enjoy the day and more importantly your company and Janets.......Im sorry to hear that there are those who put hangovers over working on the next on....I have gotten on your boat feeling like a back of smashed a*$&holes but always managed to find the courtesy and the wind to show up and make the most of it and generally have a wonderful experience.....I see your point in not charging up front but like ROB ( diamondheaded) says how many times should you get burned. the least the ones that know they wont make it can do is find some replacements ......I hope it works out better for you in the future steve as Lee and I will be back im sure and want to find a cruise that your putting on ......cause a Boobs Cruise without steve is like having cocaine without waffles its just not the same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    cheers Steve

We were scheduled to go on the cruise, but were told it was cancelled due to high winds. We got up at 8 that morning and were disappointed because we were looking forward to it. I think there was lack of communication. We were later told that only 13 people showed up. We would have been there, but as I said, we were told it was cancelled.

Well I was one of the 13 that showed up and certainly know what Steve was going through because of the 10 I committed from my group 2 bailed and I was rounding up others around the resort who never bothered to come out at 9 as planned. I know one problem is that when you're home you check the site and your email etc. When you're at TTR you are kind of blind to the outside world . I did manage to get the wifi for 24 hrs for $15 so I could access from my phone to check in but I noticed that all was quiet on the May 2nd thread once we were there. There was also a bit of confusion leading up with the previous cancellations in the days before.

A couple of things might work , as mentioned before
    1) assign a captain to help round up and contact people at the resort , who knows what people heard or what they were told? so this way the correct information gets out. Preferrably a member who may know more of the people on the forums.

    2) prepayment via paypal or prepay the "captain" once at the resort the day before at a specific time and place. You may not get all of the prepayments but enough to cover or help cover cancellations.

    3) either via the captain or the site , post what room you're in once you arrive or PM the captain so we can check with you or get your money ahead of time or let Steve know as far in advance how it's looking , maybe too much though, I don't like being bill collector on vacation and people may not want to give out that info... which leads to #2 prepayment before you arrive.

Steve I'll PM you as well , please let me know how I can help pay for some of the expenses for the cancellation. Maybe even a Donate button on the site in the future would help too.
    Thanks ... Mark
