I second the ginger pill recommendation. My wife and I like cruises and have seen ginger pills work very well, we don't get sea sick but we bring em just in case, we've passed them out and they work well and no side effects guaranteed.

Is meclizine and dramamine the same?

Meclizine is the generic name for the prescription drug called Antivert and the over-the-counter (OTC) medicines known as Dramamine and Bonine. Meclizine is used to treat motion sickness and dizziness.

Taking 1 or 2 500 mg of pure Ginger works great!!! No drowsiness.

We used it in on a cruise to Antarctica and never got sick in the crazy trip around Cape Horn.

    My understanding ....

Meclizine is the medicinal ingredient in Bonine

Dramamine is the medicinal ingredient in Gravol

I much prefer Meclinizine/Bonine, but living in Canada, I have to stock up when I go the States or get friends to bring it back for me as you can't buy it in Canada. My theory ..... the Gravol people bought off someone and got rid of the competition. It doesn't make you sleepy or drowsy like the Dramamine/Gravol does.

Also, I take one pill every day starting the day before I get on the airplane .... then I don't have to worry about the plane ride, the Boobs Cruise day, or the snorkelling day, or the ferry to the island day. I also believe that it helps the tummy in the morning :)

it's really cheap and you can get the generic brand ... just called Meclizine on the bottle .... in Walmart. I think it was 7.99 for a bottle of 100

Been multiple times and never gotten sea sick. Trust me I'm the first one to get sick on a boat but for some reason never happened in well over 20 boobs cruises. I think it has something to do with the awesome time you have while on the boat!

I think it depends on the level of seasickness. I have a real hard time with amusement park rides. And we went on cruise last year. I felt nauseous for a majority of the trip and had to take motion sickness meds.

But I've been on the Boobs Cruise twice and not had a problem.
