We loved the down town stop, and will be more prepared for it should it happen in the future. Gives you a chance to get food, take a break off the boat, check out some of the locals and local stuff. See other things in the world!
we only did 1 so far in April and it was a blast the 2nd stop was alot of fun as we took over the place and a few addictts rocked out and everyone was danceing and a chance to change up yr drinks. but i like the idea of just takeing a vote on the boat like we did for the snorkling that we skipped. but either way deff going to do it agin. only thing i would add is a change in tequila
We kinda like the stop. It helps pace us a little better. Wouldn't be broken hearted if we didn't stop, but we do enjoy it.
so first we stopped flying the spinaker next we stopped snorkeling on the reef next we stopped snorkeling at all now we're losing the bar stop, what's that leave... ...the cheap booze and food and boobs all of which I can get at the hotel. It was fun while it lasted. See you in the pool when you get back. peace out danny
I understand your point of view, but Steve is just trying to be responsive to the guests. I too hope the bar stop doesn't go away, I kind of like that place personally. But I won't hold it against him if the majority of the people don't want it... Maybe it would have been a better poll if Steve had added a third option. 1 - keep it 2 - meh, I'm partying my ass off so whatever 3 - once I'm on a boat I don't want to get off! I can't see him taking action too rashly though.
I for one didn't mind that he got rid of the spinaker. So many people got hurt jumping from it as that is the only way to get off it, including Steve. Snorkling well just not as much fun as partying and dancing on the boat but they are still doing it and others enjoy it. The bar stop is fun at times and not so much at other times. It really depends on the group. It was great with the band but as Steve has said the band isn't there right now. One thing you can't get at the hotel that you get on the boat, is all those crazy cancuncare people in one spot where you can get to know them in case you didn't recognize them at the hotel. Sorry but I love the ocean and the scenery of the boat and from the hotel doesn't begin to even compare. I also love my friends Steve and Janet and enjoy getting to spend the day with them too.I can't even begin to count all the friendships that started on that boat. Muah guys love you all.
Either way is fine. The cruise provides an unique opportunity for people to "let go". Whether on the boat, snorkling, games at lunch or at the island bar people experience the freedom to be themselves. Often, but not guaranteed, local bands at the island bar have willing allowed cruise participants to play their instruments or use the microphone to entertain the crowd. Alcohol is available at the bar and the local bartender is quite accommodating. The cost is an individual responsibility. Shopping is a choice. Ladies need their tops on the island but they come back off as soon as the boat leaves the dock. It is all about the people on the cruise. The level of fun and craziness depends on the group. Steve and his staff provide the opportunity the rest is up to the participants. . . whip cream anyone? Personally, let uninhibited fun prevail no matter if the vote is to stop at the island or not.
Hey Keith and Monique, You guys are way too "Politically Correct" in your responses to this post. If this cruise is all about cheap booze, food, and boobs than maybe he should just stay at another hotel. It sounds like he's written a few reviews for Tripadvisor. Paul
...............yikes...........our favorite stop is the downtown stop.........we've bought quite a lot of silver down there and love it!..........the lunch stop is our least favorite......we could eat downtown and enjoy that stop.......and echo the shallow water skinny dip spot.......Steve I believe it was near your house???? Or maybe......................we could all get nude on the boat! We really thought this years Boobs Cruise was going to be wild based on who signed up but it was the most sedate trip we've ever been on!
I am torn on this one. On one hand getting on and off the boat freaks the hell out of me (I'm weird) but I don't have sea legs so moving around on the boat isn't fun for me either and heading into town is a good break where I can move around. But I do love the skinny dipping so I would love more time to do that. Either way the cruise is a blast. I just don't know which way to vote on this.
