Yea I'm not sure what the situation was either. It was our 1st cruise (and 1st TTR trip) and honestly it didn't matter to us that there were others at the lunch spot. We had an absolute blast and will be repeaters to both TTR and the Boobs Cruise!! Steve, Janet, Chinos, Omar, & all the people on the boat with us showed us one of the best parties of our life!
Yeah we've had a few issues lately. We are working on getting them resolved. Albatros (biggest catamaran company in Cancun) bought Samba (second biggest catamaran company) just before Christmas. Their number of boats doubled as did their number of clients, but they still used only the one restauarant. Once high season hit (mid Feb) there were far too many people and not enough lunch facilities. We were as surprised as anyone when we arrived at our 'private' beach club to find tons of other people there. Obviously, I wasn't best pleased with this and we have had a couple of meetings with the Albatros owners since. One option is to change the time of our lunch stop, but I'm not keen on having a too early or too late lunch time so for the last two cruises (22nd and 25th of Feb) we have used the next club down the beach, called Mandala. It's a little longer to walk to but is much quieter than the previous place currently is. There is a closer dock but it's not deep enough for our big boat to get in if we have a lot of people, although for smaller numbers we can just about squeeze in. We're still trialing things out and things may change again, but rest assured we do know what people want and will do our best to offer that within the constraints we have.
"We're still trialing things out and things may change again, but rest assured we do know what people want and will do our best to offer that within the constraints we have." Thanks for the response Steve. I had heard something to that effect the day of the cruise, nice to get the full story. Don't get me wrong, I still had an awesome time and will be back in May. p.s Thanks for the invite to Jannet's birthday party, it was a great bash.
When we went we were the only group there. Places on each side had several people, but one couple started having sex on the beach and that might have dissuaded familes from coming over to our lunch spot lol
Exiting the dock first you have Lancheros, this is a family restaurant and we have to be careful of covering up. We've had extra complaints this year and they are mounting up. The next beach club is what used to be called Bonitas, but now seems to be re-named Amazona by Marbella. This has been our usual spot for the last several years. (the marker is not very well placed) The club after that is Marbella , and that's where we have been the last few trips. Again the markers are not placed well. You can see the two docks I mentioned earlier.
