I just received a few square cut shorts from Amazon today, just tried them on.... they're pretty intimidating when one is sober and shorter than I imagined! Hopefully a few drinks early morning will alleviate any fears! Certainly wouldn't wear them anywhere outside of Temptation! :aktion014: but I guess that's the joy of the place!

Back in the day (late 80s) surfing trunks had a different design than your usual swim trunks. They used strong and water repellent materials as nylon and polyester. But the biggest difference was that they did not have an elastic waist like most swim shorts did. Back then 95% of guys wearing Boardshorts were surfers and they were "short" (16 to 18in inseam) not freakingly long as today. They became a lot more mainstream in the 90s and now a days it seems almost everyone wears them.

Hmmmm from the Start of the Day when asked this question, I simply said to myself, "nah For one Im a bit Tubby, if I wasn't, hey maybe i could rock em... Plus I bet they Uncomfortable, Honestly Its all about comfort for me, I would rather be naked if I could. rather be naked then wear Board shorts (depending on how cold it is of course lol) and I would rather be comfortable then wear something ore tight and constricting... however... someone has commented that they are surprisingly comfortable.. more so then Board shorts... hmmmm You all Have given me something to Think long and Hard about...

So Thank you for posting this thread I guess. Cause If i manage to find something even more comfortable then Board shorts im fucking IN! but again... more research is needed...

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm what to do???...

Yep. Board shorts actually serve a purpose. Along with rash guards, they prevent surfers from getting scratched or burned from the surfboard. Although, that doesn't explain all of the women surfers who wear a rash guard and a bikini bottom. But I think it became a fashion statement or a way for guys to hide.

I wear them only when I'm at a "family" beach. But I find them uncomfortable, and lousy for tanning.

    Hint,

I have found that square cuts with at least 1inch of inseam ( like the first pic on hear, black and blue trunks ), will keep the package from falling out.

I have 'em, I've been told I look good in 'em.. but honestly I don't like 'em.

I prefer my board shorts and think I look better in them too.

    Doesn't mean I won't get stuck wearing them :)

Well, I decided that if mrs. Netcruizer was going to sport some tiny thongs, then why have a double standard for me? So I wore very small bikini bottoms from Official Ergowear Store | Mens Pouch Underwear & Swimwear. What I found is that they are very comfortable and by the end of the week, wishing that I could wear swimsuits like that all of the time. Unfortunately, at most pools and beaches where kids are present, it would be difficult to get away with it.

Like you, I was a little intimidated and brought a couple of bored shorts just in case, but when I got there, I told myself, "just do it and don't look back!" I'm glad I did. I'm definitely not a Mr. universe, but I do watch my weight, but I figured, go for it. When we were there, along with Brtsrhot2, Ryan, and a about 20 others, we rocked the tiny swimsuits. But at no time, did I feel bad for wearing them. In fact, I got a couple of direct compliments to me, and at least one indirect one where a I overheard a lady tell her husband, "you should wear a bathing suit like that".

I did get one negative comment that I overheard from two ladies in the jacuzzi behind us, I heard her tell her friend, "talk about putting it in your face". Of course, I never got closer than 20 feet to her. My wife and I chuckled about it because, I told my wife, "I should walk over there and say, 'this is putting it in your face'". But I was a good boy and didn't do anything. :)

Wear those square cuts. By the end of the week, you will have wished you could wear a smaller bathing suit. :)
