So far, so good. We are hovering at 33 degrees Fahrenheit and it is raining pretty heavily. So if we can make it through the night, we'll be alright. It is supposed to be in the low 40s tomorrow with rain changing over to snow. In 2005 I was working mids and sleeping when Dawn woke me up (after being without power for three hours, bless her heart) to head for a hotel downtown. Downtown ended up being the only place around with power. It was also the hub for the electrical workers who traveled from eight different states to help us get our power lines back up. Ha! As much as I hate to shovel snow, I have no problems doing so as long as I can have power. Ya know what I mean? I hope that you didn't get hit too hard Karan. Hail can do quite a bit of damage. Especially to cars, windows, and siding. Hope you guys are catching a break up in Chicago Katie. It looks like you folks are in the gauntlet. A little of this, a little of that.
Thankfully my car's in the garage. Seems to have passed by us. It's a bit icey out theyer though. My dog slid across the sidewalk when I put him out.
Things ended up well here. The Southern low pushed up far enough North that we ended up with more rain that freezing rain. So we ended up not losing power at all which was a good thing. Hope others did as well.
We've fared pretty well too. We have not lost power though it was sleeting pretty much through the night. It was rather slushy when we awoke. For most of the day it was cloudy and dry. Then a couple hours ago. then snow started coming down pretty heavily. I'd say we have about an inch now. Glad to hear that others fared OK. Will be interesting to see what the northeast will get.
