    I should clarify...

    it's 45-50 degrees out...

the lakes weren't lakes, but overflowing rivers that crossed the road...

so the waters got up to a foot deep.

hopefully I didn't short anything out.

Carrie... how is where you are now? I see the radar WI and MN are getting whipped. We have high winds and blowing snow but not a lot of it. And only in some places.

Me, too...more wind than anything else. We got like three inches of new snow last night, and the winds started. Today we had maybe light snow, but mostly blowing snow. We were lucky to have been missed by alot of it. Like there was a bubble around us. But the winds were out of the west like 25-30 MPH constant. My driveway is currently drifted shut! I'm sure there are major drifts out there; luckily the plows must've just done my route home cuz it was all cleared! :D Thanks for asking!

Carrie77 & Katie, Up to this point hasn't your weather been relatively mild for this time of year?

This has been an unusual winter here in the sense that the precipitation has been pretty much concentrated just in big storms (1st of December like 6 inches then nothing --Green Christmas-- until well into January another storm...) yet the temperatures have been BRUTALLY cold. The high temp on Super Bowl Sunday was like 4* above! Even right now it is 12*! Yes, 12* isn't necessarily brutal, but this is MARCH! When will it end?!?

Carrie... glad to hear you made through it ok.

I moved to Chicago in 2002. And for me this seems to be the snowiest winter on hand. Since Jan 1, it seems we either get a little of snow every day or if it looks like the snow is all melted then it snows again. Lot more precipation. However I don't seem to mind. I prefer to see the white then nasty brown ground in the winter. It makes me think that there is a reason for all this cold, cloudy and nasty winter and makes it more bearable.
