I have only put a deposit down and it says when I pay the whole amount they will email me a voucher. Does that mean I'm not reserved yet with TTR? I tried to online chat with them and they never responded.
The only caveat to the 3rd party sites is....make sure whichever site you use, you get locked in at the price you made a down payment on. Some sites will charge you the current (if higher) price when you pay the balance. Never had that problem with Alpharooms, but Ive read that some will do that. I usually just pay in full since its such a great deal.
Yeah the survey was bc I was tired of the stories where someone claimed their cousins coworkers neighbors purchased thru non resort company xyz and they either didn’t have their reservation or got bumped to another resort bc of that reservation being less of a priority. The results... not a single person had a first hand experience of that occurring. Sure there were a couple of we ran into someone who said someone had that happen or a bump to Desire as optional (some people would love to be bumped to Desire) occurred where they ask if anyone wants to temporarily move over to try Desire if over sold. So this feels like an over hyped risk to me. We too have used several non resort options. Never travelup so I can’t vouch for them specifically but we can vouch for having first hand good experiences with alpharooms, cheaptickets, Expedia.
We were bumped once about 10 years ago. Only spent a couple hours sleeping at the GP where we were bumped for the night. Got 3 free nights in return

I was just thinking that cyber Monday maybe has become too mainstream and now the deals just are not as good as they used to be as Temptation isn’t the only one who isn’t offering as good deals as they have in the past and not just talking travel. Cheaptickets, usually offers something extreme. They offered 17% off in an email starting today. Note yesterday they were also offering 17% off and Friday 18% off and the week prior 16% off. So point is today has been a disappointment
