We heard a lot of conflicting information about black bands the when we wee at Temptations last February ... whats the real deal? Who needs to needs to sponsor a couple?
Black bands are given to members as well as Referrals. Members have a limited number of Referrals per year (depending on the size of their contract and negotiation skills). A referral gets you 25% off rack rates as well as all member benefits. You are supposed to attend the sales presentation (90 minutes or more). If you do, the member gets a 250 credit, with additional credit/free nights if you purchase. While no one can force you to attend, you do have a moral obligation to attend unless the member tells you they don't care. There are also blue bands given to non-members staying in the tower. They get some limited perks (the most valuable of which is free access to the rooftop bar). No requirement to attend the presentation. Let me know if you have any additional questions.
