Did we ever find out Lauramapchick's budget? This is a great speculative thread - everyone guessing as to what 'high-end' means to the poster - yet the poster of this thread never replied!! Come on mapchick - enlighten us and put this thread to rest.

Yesterday I wandered back into the bike shop in Paseo Cancun. It's called Elite Cyclery and the owner is one of the MTB Cancun organizers http://www.mtbcancun.com/

The nicest bike I saw in there was a Fuji mountain bike that had a price tag of $25,000 MXP. Now that was a nice bike.

The owner is a nice guy and his work with MTB Cancun organizing community bike rides is great. Still, the store is understocked. And the owner was complaining about how high the rent is there...so we shall see what happens.

out of interest has anyone got a bike they want to sell - that fits a person 6ft tall - doesn't have to be amazing, good condition though, just to run up and down the hotel zone.??

    hey now!
    Iowa is home of RAGBRAI!
If you don't know what that is, do some googling :)

Anyway, I have a Trek that I like and before that a Bianchi, which I loved
(that's an Italian racing bike T.J.)
No more dissing me about my bike!

Now that that's out of the way....
I was actually asking for a fella who lives on Isla several months each year and he wanted to buy a couple of nicer bikes in Cancun rather than haul them from the states.
I'll tell him about the bullring shop and the one at Paseo
    Thanks everyone!
