Take the bus that says "Puerto Juarez". Most will take you directly to the ultramar building. Walk through the building. Buy a ticket $12 bucks/person. The ferries leave every half hour. Take the ferry over. Walk up the doc... rent a golf cart. It's best to rent from El Sol, Gomers, or Prisma. DO NOT rent from Ciros. They have ripped too many people off.
It will be $45.... the cart will need to be back by 5pm. They will hold on to someones license but they will give it back when you return the cart. Don't be late returning the cart!!!!!!!! lol

Nice beaches: Playa Norte...... or if you go up the little alleyway on the side of playa norte it will take you to chichi and charlies and there is a beautiful nude beach there :)

    Other places on the island.....
Garrafon park is nice to stop and take pics. It's ridiculously expensive. Instead.... we just go directly next door to the LITTLE garrafon park. It's only like 15-20 bucks to have fun for the whole day. That includes entry fee, snorkel gear, fish food, and maybe a meal and a drink. I think it's only like 30-50 pesos for entrance, etc etc.

We got margaritas and beers and were just galavanting the island and drinking. It felt so bad ass to drink and drive. lol. Not that we were having shots or even a little buzzed... but still.

Punta Sur isn't too far after Garrafon. Stop at take pics there too. You can no longer go up the lighthouse.... but there is the cliff museum, a nice little restaurant(kinda pricey) and a spot with a MILLION iguanas! By the little wedding pagoda there are bushes. If you go to the corner you can go under or hop over a bush.... be very careful. This is a beautiful cliff that overlooks Garrafon. You can see the tip of the 7 of Cancun in the distance. We always take a million pics here. The cliff is cracking so definitely don't stand near the edge. lol.

Definitely stop and get aqua de coco (Coconut water) somewhere. The little sweet lady who sells them on the way to the turtle farm only sells the one with water. I went to the restaurant by the ferry port.... i forget the name but they have a bin of them outside. They have the ones "with meat" so to speak. It just actually has the coconut inside. Once you are done drinking the coconut water, they cut it open and give you the coconut in a bag to munch on. Ask for some lime to squirt on it. it's delicious! Just be careful! coconut stains your clothes! lol

There is a street about 3 streets back from the main drag. Golf carts aren't allowed there. It's nothing but stores and restaurants.

p.s. To take in the most of isla mujeres and cancun.... sit ON TOP of the ferry! Bring a light jacket at night time as it does get chilly in Isla and on the ferry. Just keep in mind that sometimes you may get a little mist or small splash on top of the boat. :) Feels good in the sun though!

I'm sure I'm forgetting tons of places that we usually stop at.... but that's all I have for now! lol <3

    Sorry for the novel!

Guys - thank you for all of the awesome replies.

What do you recommend one take on trip with them?

I see a few of you mentioned about taking driver's licenses.

    Anything else like that?

    I take:
Drivers license, dollars, pesos, singles for tips(1 dollar bills), towel(the hotel towels just in case something happens to it), light sweater/hoody, a "wet bag" (You can find these at Ross for like 2 bucks. You put your bathing suit in there and it keeps the moisture and wetness inside of the bag so nothing else gets wet), disposable underwater camera, regular digital camera, extra memory card, flip flops/comfy walking shoes, sunscreen, lip gloss, sunglasses..... and I can't remember what else at the moment :)
