Good on you for doing so. Don't think I'd venture to rent a car and drive from the airport to the resort. I like relaxing on the trip to the resort. I think the most adventuresome I get in renting anything was a golf cart on the Isle of Mujeres we have taken the bus to Market 28 and the Walmart which was fun and I know that some of the locals had a story to share over the dinner table about the gringo's on the bus.
