Wow i've been reading this post n it's a riot. So many misconceptions it's unreal. Drink juice? Almost all juices are pure sugar(very bad for fat loss). Ok and as far as calories go, not all calories are the same. Eating 2000 calories of pure sugar is totally different than eating 2000 calories made up of mostly protein n some great complex carbs. Cutting out soda does work!! I just read that even diet sodas(no calories at all) even help store bodyfat as it triggers the brain into releasing insulin. The glycemic index is a great way of shedding bodyfat. Stick to foods that are very low glycemic(35 or less on glycemic index). Princess if you're at 12% body fat that's incredible for a woman You're abs should make most guys jealous w the perfect 6 pack you have. remember if you go below 10%, you're monthly friend doesn't come anymore and that's not that healthy on the long run. You're bf w 6% body fat is amazing. Most competitive bodybuilders compete w 4-6% bodyfat, so he must be shredded w veines running thru his abs. sorry if i sound skeptical but I'm above 10% bodyfat n my abs are showing. people usually say they're at a certain bf % but aren't even close. Not saying that you're not as you might very well be. But a woman at 12% will have a six pack most guys would be envious of. Just my two cents folks. Btw, i don't claim to be an expert, but i've been in da bodybuilding game for over 15 yrs and was training n hanging out all the time w IFBB pro bodybuilder...just saying

well, we have one of those fat caliber things, and thats what it said.. i'm sure its not 100% accurate, obviously, but it has to be somewhat close.

You cant go by those calculators.

Even calipers don't give you an accurate result. You have to take a water test to get the most accurate number.

Woman have higher fat counts than men.

did you test yourselves with the calipers or get a trainer professional to do it cause that can make a big difference

i get most of my diet advice from boyd meyers, a competitive bodybuilder who is currently on track to break the world record in raw bench press within the next few months....juice should only be used to create an insulin spike after a workout to get you whey protein into your system faster...but i wouldnt do that if i was cutting, thats more of a bulking move....i disagree on the diet soda deal...i use artificial sweeteners in tea every day and occasionally have diet soda to no ill effects....the thought that it "tricks" your body into creating an insulin spike is b.s. if you ask me and i havent seen any long term studies to show otherwise....your right about cals not being created equal...think "you are what you eat"...lean protein vs soft carbs...as i posted before, the only real accurate way to have bf tested is in the dunk tank to test your buoyancy (sp) or have a TRAINED professional do it with the bf calipers....

I live on diet pepsi and don't wanna believe it either. But this is the 2nd dr that has brought (it was actually on dr oz also) it up so i will cut out the diet sodas for 2 weeks to see if it helps any. I will let u know the results. And i agree that the only way to measure body fat is in a tank
