I use the ATMs for cash. I rarely carry more than $200 with me. When I arrive, I normally head out to the store to stock up on morning liquids and use the ATM at the same time. As cash is spent, I refill at the ATM. I travel a bit for work and use my cards while on the road. My bank and credit cards have preferred exchange rates and foreign commission rates and fees. It's almost as cheap as traveller's checks, but much less hassle.
I just did that already! Thanks for the tip Collegeguy.. they actually required me to report it and I didnt even know. Just call the number behind your card and let them know when you will be gone.
