Best part is arriving at the start of a trip.. Worst part is when Norma cuts my wristband off when I leave..
Trying to think of examples others might not mention. The good: 1. The Gorgonzola salad served at the Italian and seafood place. I tried to recreate this at home and it came out as a vile, soggy mess. 2. The bar staff still serving at 4am with a smile on their face. Even if they're thinking 'just go to bed already', they don't show it. They just keep going and 'maybe' try to get you with the hose as they're washing Paty O down at 5:30am. 3. Being the arse end of the hotel zone. This is a positive because whether they realise it or not, this will always dictate the prices they can charge because many don't like the small beach, or being far from the HZ centre. Those of us that forego this do so because it's worth it in other ways. Also means booking private transfer is quicker than for those on the coach, is much quicker to downtown on the bus and cheaper to Walmart in a taxi if you need it. The bad: 1. There isn't a neon sign outside the sports bar saying 'if it's torrential rain outside and nobody is at the pool bars, this is where the party people are at playing Cards Against Humanity and possibly body shots'. 2. I have to sleep some time, so miss my early morning friends if I party all night, or miss my night owl friends if I'm up early and too tired to stay up once the music shuts off. 3. Whenever we book another trip, our dates never line up with all the friends we've met over the years. We keep missing some people by a couple of days or weeks! Then we go and meet more people which only makes lining up dates worse!
Yeah the Italian restaurant and Asian restaurants are probably the best. Too bad I usually had to slip 10 bucks to the front desk guy to get into the restaurant at a decent hour despite the place being half empty. Do the hold the prime reservation hours for premiere members or do people just reserve far in advance without showing?
they a lot a certain / ample amount of time for you to eat , and then there are a lot of no - shows for obvious reasons
Yes I'm pretty sure they do hold places for premier members for peak hours. Solution is to buddy up with premier members for a meal, reserve 3 days in advance or deal with the really early or really late reservations. We're not premier but get plenty of opportunities to join others for dinner. People often book space for 4 people and just invite others along. To be honest I prefer early reservations anyway, the peak hour ones take too long. Also, unexpectedly I've had the best meal ever at the Italian on a reservation at 10pm. Place was almost empty, we'd had a few drinks so conversation was really entertaining and food served quickly between courses.
Best is the way: 1) my confidence in my sexy rises when I walk through the doors on arrival. 2) my husband, ahem...rises, due my confidence in my sexy. 3) our time at TTR, rather short or long, is all about our sexy time with each other. Worst is the way: 1) we enjoy hanging out with our fellow visitors on the beach, sexy pool and Paty'Os so much that sometime our sexy private time is shorter than we anticipated! 2) our sexy time has us missing dinner reservations at times. 3) our sexy....well, I think you get the theme!!!!!! A worst outside of sexy issues is that I think the omelets and bacon are overcooked. I work with the grill station professionals to serve my omelet/eggs up before they may think it is ready. As for the bacon, oh well, it's bacon so I'm eating it any way! Can you believe this is the worst I can think of?
We prefer the later reservations...wanting to have "sexy" time and take a nap before dinner. We need that nap to party through the early morning! Late reservations are no problem for us because we're no longer interested in the evening shows before the DJ starts in Paty'Os since we've seem them. We agree that the late reservations can be great!
The best: 1) Paty-O's -- love this place every night except for the band night. 2) The party at the sexy pool, especially on Saturdays -- once this gets going, the fun begins. Drinking, body shots, naked under the water. 3) The great people who make the sexy atmosphere so much fun. The worst: 1) Serving crappy alcohol -- yes, you can sometimes get Smirnoff or Skyy, but sometimes you get the bad stuff. 2) Not enough shade around the beach area -- no reason they can't put some more trees and/or shaded areas. It gets hot being out in the sun all day! 3) Getting two double beds instead of a king -- yeah, they'll change you if they have availability. But if not? Really sucks.
Please feel free to ask questions on here whenever you want it is how you learn about a great place. I may not be as savvy as some here but also feel free to PM me i will help best I can.
Ask all you want. And ignore the people that act like they are some sort of unofficial liaison/authority for TTR. Doesnt matter how long someones been going there, no one on here poured the concrete for the place. Welcome to the party!!
