Party supplies? Hmm you do realise that 30,000 people last year in the 'party supplies business' were killed in Mexico? I know it may seem fun but there are so many other ways of having a good time, you really dont need to support the killing, extortion and corruption it generates. Trust me, it's no party - it is very real and supporting the drug trade affects people I am sure you really would not want it to affect. Mexicans in general are very against drugs, and many will not be adverse to turning you in. The law about possession of small amounts might well be the case, purchasing is a different matter as is dealing. And anyway whatever the actual law is it doesnt really matter. This is Mexico, if someone wants to take advantage - they will.

We agree, Steve. Our response was meant to be facetious...that party supplies meant balloons and toy noise makers.
You are absolutely right Steve......in all seriousness, partaking in certain 'party favors' does condone and promote support to all of the horrific crime that is also attached to it..whether it is Mexico, United States, Canada, Europe.......people partaking do, whether they admit it or not, support the whole underbelly of it. To clarify, I myself as well as I am sure most others found the balloons, noisemakers, 'party in the pants' portions of the discussion quite humorous.....all the while trying to show that the original query of ' certain other party favors' is not needed to have a great time on vacation!
