We spent quite a bit of time on the beach last year, not a problem getting beds in the morning, as beds by the sexy pool fill up quickly. Waiter service for drinks on the beach, saves going to the bar!! We walked both directions along the beach, there are some lovely houses to the left of the hotel. Not the best beach in the world, yes you do get a bit of seaweed, but it is the ocean! this gets cleared daily. The water was fine, but not the crystal blue you get when you go over to the island. The sand is soft and white. We tried sailing the Hobie cats (gave the whole beach a good laugh). I saw a group of people removing their swimwear once they were in the water, one of the men was robbed of his and had to run back up the beach naked! Nothing but laughter from everyone especially his friends with the camera! There is always security on the beach, they seem to follow non residents along the beach. You get a few locals trying to sell you stuff but they do take no for an answer. Hope this helps. xx

When we were asked to leave the pool they suggested we go in the ocean to skinny dip. they ask nicely many many times before escalating things. One day at the magic hour (5PM) they came into the pool and told us we had to get out of the hot tub as they had to do maintenance. things were getting pretty out of control, instead of telling us to behave they simply made up an excuse to calm things down. It is a very well run resort, they treat everyone with respect, and understand we are there to have fun! so don't worry

The beach is fine.... but the water tends to be a bit nasty ... at least right by the volleyball court. A friend dove for a ball and landed in the water and it was disgusting.

Maybe further up/down the beach the water quality is better.

Maybe someone can comment, but I believe much of that beach was man-made re-construction after one of the hurricanes a few years ago.

Which is why it was provided. ;)

I must admit that I too have enjoyed the show ever once in a while as we "tripped" across an otherwise engaged couple. Never believe some of the moves we've learned...

Now.. another suggestion... never, ever, pick up or otherwise touch a towel on the beach in the morning. I remember a story posted here about a guy that saw a towel used by several couples during the night (he too was on a learning adventure and taking notes) and then was convient for an early morning swimmer to wipe the saltwater off his face in the morning. The observer said he almost threw up when he saw that but laughed instead...

    Walking the beach?

Is the lagoon side beach at Temptation good for long beach walks in the morning? If not can you get across to the Sea side to walk the beach? One of our favorite parts of staying at Riu Palace at PDC was the miles you could walk safely heading south from resort. Of course, the Palace doesn't appear to have the same party atmosphere as TTR. Any suggestions?

We walked as far as we could to the left and right of the hotel, came across rocky outcrops that we could not pass to the left and what seemed to be a private hotel/restaurant heading up an inlet where the pirate ships were, there were no obvious ways past, but I must admit we didn't try that hard. I wish the beach was longer as I really enjoy walking along the beach. They were still pumping sand to build up the beach which at times makes the water cloudy, I think this is an ongoing task that the hotel have. Other properties nearby don't have half as much sand as TTR. I will check it out again in 7 days!!!

Take shoes, we didn't! this was part of the reason we could not clamber over rocks, and my husband is VI so guiding him would have been a problem LOL!
