I have heard the beach at TTR has gotten better in the last few years? Any truth to this/ any recent photos? I am looking to take some photos - any must see places walking distance from TTR or can get to with city bus? I don't want to walk around with a large camera around resort and be mistaken for a creeper lol. We will be there for 14 days - a day or two will be needed to spend more mellow.
Turn left out of the resort and walk 5 minutes to the ferry terminal, take a trip over to Isla Mujeres for around $17 return. A 15-minute walk from the ferry terminal at Isla gets you to Playa Norte, which is a phenomenal beach. White sand, crystal clear blue sea. Worth a trip at least once.
This is good advice by Trish, but be aware that she is referring to leaving out of the front of the resort. If you go to the beach, you need to turn right and walk 5 minutes to the ferry. This is always a favorite day of ours.
I don't think there has been much of a change at the beach over the past few years. Nobody should have a problem of taking pictures of your significant other at the beach. Even the professional photographer at the resort uses the beach at TTR. You can get a lot of great looking pictures and it's a lot easier to take topless or sexy pictures at the Temptation beach compared to the other public beach areas.
