It’s absolutely mandatory. Lol. By day three I was like get a room already! Lol. Although they’re in their rooms basically. Never was told to put the shade down. Saw orgies. Sex in day light. Our balcony shows were pretty intense also - skin, sex, solo play and some spice mixed in - no complaints from across the balconies.
As mentioned, they may ask you to close the shade. Which is, of course, on the opposite side of the patio. The renovation did bring a new twist, the automatic evening patio lighting. The light switch is gone. I suppose that can be a good or bad thing depending on your plans. If you’re intending on a show, I’m not sure what they can say—you put the shade down for polite privacy, they turned the lights on to take it away. If you weren’t, it can be rather disruptive to the moment when they suddenly turn on.
