Yeah that looks like it's a long way out to me. I would not bank on that having an Oct opening. Yes the new Temptation did open on-time. There were lots of missing elements the soft opening week. We got there like day 3 or 4, and it was a hot mess. And just think the grounds were already built, and it felt like they had like most of Cancun's construction workers on that one job.
I just looked back to where the progress of the Cancun renovations were back in February 2017. They opened after those renovations in late August of 2017. There was no tower, no pool in February 2017 and they opened in 6 months. Search progress of that in a thread titled “Demolition progress,reports pic,and videos.” Page 43 and on. Still 7 months until Miches is to open. I am no construction expert but seems to me that Miches construction is moving along just fine. Further along than they were in 2017. When they get the buildings closed in, it moves fast.
We are booked for Halloween at Miches. Splitting time between both resorts! We have done at least 8 Halloweens at TTR, looking forward to checking out this new resort, hoping to see more of the of the regulars checking out Miches! P&L
Booked for day after Thanksgiving.. I think we all will be fine they will hit the Grand Opening goal.
I honestly don't think there is a backup for TTR in the DR. I was at Breathless Punta Cana on a girls trip while TTR was under construction and it was an absolute snore fest. Everything was closed by 11pm every night and, although there were topless areas, I was the only topless one there for the week. There was no party atmosphere at all. Thankfully, we met a group of 4 guys that were there for a college friend reunion and we got our own party going. If not for that, we would have been reading books!
Breathless is a nice property we have been to a few but I agree at 11pm the place tends to shut down so you have to make sure to party extra hard during the day.
