    if you have webshots or photobucket or one of those fine picture storage services....

    on the picture you want as your avatar... right click on the THUMBNAIL version of it, click PROPERTIES, and copy the Address/URL.

    click 'PROFILE' at the top of this forum and paste that address into the box marked 'LINK TO OFF-SITE AVATAR' and then click 'SUBMIT'

    voila!
