Nice thread, but apparantly the management is only going to address the issues the cay respond to in a positive manner. Looks like we won't get answers to. 1:00 am closing time and lights shutting off at 1:00 Lack of nightlife Not providing a party atmosphere Long drink and food lines Refrigerators not being cold Etc...
We will be visiting GOV mid July....looking forward to hearing more about themes, activities , food, rooms, service, and all the adult fun

Been watching this thread and hoping fo the best. But something is a amiss here. This does nothing but empower TTR. Wont be going to Cancun this year.
Just curious, but we thought all of the rooms were as posted in photos here months ago. In other words, none of these old, dumpy, non renovated rooms. Serious question, which room were we supposed to book in order not to receive a mouldy walled one with a 25 year old television? Again, one of the reasons we booked GOV was for the supposedly superior rooms. Now it comes out that its entirely possible to end up with a room of lower quality than TTR? Is that what's going on? We would love an honest answer here. This is not something that we are willing to overlook. Also, we've noticed that on the last 3 reviews on TA, someone from GOV was gracious enough to reply to the only positive review. How about some answers to the tougher questions? We so wanted to see an alternative to Desire and TTR, but it doesn't look like this will ever happen, at least not here. And if anyone still doubts if GOV will be anything but the standard boring all-inclusive resort, just look at management's reply to the one report referenced above. Seems like a shot at TTR and those who are looking for a resort with any kind of pool party or nightlife. Well, there are resorts that offer adults only but where no one talks to anyone, and is the standard boring resort holiday. Thinking of Sandals, et al. Just wondering why they would say "calm and relaxed"? As for the frat party environment at TTR, we can take it or leave it. In fact, we prefer to leave it. But that doesn't mean we want no atmosphere at all, and no nightlife? That just doesn't sound appealing.
Hello!! I´m here to answer negative and positive reviews! We´re not hiding, just working hard. Regarding your question about rooms, I answered already a couple of months ago that it will take time in order to renovate the entire resort. So far, we have the 70% done, however, due to high season is not easy to move forward. On the other hand, is also important that you know there are two different standar rooms: FLIRT and SPICE. Also, posted a couple of months ago. The flirt rooms are the ones that haven´t been renovated so far, so if you wish to have a better should book the Spice category Please, as I was saying, if you are here, or if you´re coming soon try to send an email, and also remember that WE CANNOT GUARANTEE any request but at least we try.
