We’ll be there April 6-13th. Our trip in October we had a takeover group and we weren’t able to access any places the takeover group had reserved. Sports Bar, Sky Bar and pool. Was very annoying. I sent two emails to the resort and have not gotten one response. Many issues with that group as well. Am hoping the two takeover groups I am sandwiched between this time are better or it may be time to find a new resort (sigh)
So just to give some insight, we ended up running into two takeovers this year. The one at the beginning of April is the same as the one that was there mid April in 2018. They were not as disruptive but they sold tickets to anyone at TTR in advance (I wish they didn't). We bought them, attended their rooftop party and was ignored by everyone. Those that know me, I'm a social slut, so I tried to strike up conversations but was not well received. Music was good, drinks were good, but people had no interest in conversation if you weren't part of the main group that traveled together. But...at least they weren't disruptive. Unlike the following: Mochafest...at the beginning of October was brutal. They were not respectful of one of the golden resort rules...no cell phones around the pools. There was vandalism (someone took off one of the seats from the pool bar stools and tried to use it like a frisbee) and a lack of respect in several instances. There were some really cool people in the group that were friendly, but the when the DJ took over and was yelling in the mic, it was downright annoying. Security ignored the cell phone use saying they were taking group pictures of themselves even though we could see videos, FB live and snapchat on their phones. They weren't hiding it. I don't know who the "Couples gone wild" group is, but I intend to stay away from external group takeovers. They might be fine, but I'll try to avoid regardless. Not saying all groups are bad and they shouldn't come...we're all essentially little groups now, but the some basic courtesy needs to be observed by them. TTR continues to maintain it is an adult party where your privacy is respected but I haven't seen that from management during either takeover.
I know lol. Was there any doubt in your mind that I wouldn’t. Now to hit Amazon to get all decked out.
