Cancun Baby! Woot woot! Match is B-O-O-K-E-D for April! :mnm: April 14 - 24 Today SellOffVacations.com (Canadian discount travel site) started a 72-hour sale on its packaged vacations. $100 off per person. I had been watching the 10-day package leaving April 14th, which was already $150 less pp than the next closest date (April 16), and $400 less than arriving in Cancun on the 11th, 12th or 13th. And even before the $100 off pp, it's the cheapest 10-day package I've seen to Temptation in any month I have tried to book. I didn't get a huge deal, but the price is only about $100 more than what flight + dble occ room would have cost last April. I booked because I talked to Sell Off, Westjet and my travel agent, and all three confirmed that Westjet's once-a-day direct flight was nearly sold out on all my possible travel dates 8 MONTHS IN ADVANCE :icon_eek: because of Easter. And that's at the ridiculous prices that are more than double what the same flights were last year. WTF? I don't deal with uncertainty very well, and I'm a Type-A turbo-planner, so I went ahead and booked. And now I can just sit back and not agonize over booking. Anyway, I don't want to be an alarmist, but I am really encouraging my Alberta friends who want to be in Cancun over Easter to book as soon as you can or you may end up on the milk run to Cancun. The package I booked is with Sunquest, and I can cancel and get all my money back (not a credit) except $75 up to 45 days before departure. But I have to pay the whole trip cost right now. You have to book on the telephone with SellOffVacations to get the $100pp off. So, who's joining me April 14-24? LOL...I just realized that I booked this year's trip for EXACTLY the same dates as my trip last year...I seem to suffering from a complete lack of originality! :biggrinbandit: So, I was thinking about the theme nights thing. Last year some people were grouchy because the mid-month people held sway about what themes would be chosen for the whole month because we had the most voters and loudest voice (last April we repeated nearly the identical schedule every week). This year, I think we should post a separate voting thread for each week, so that everyone feels that the choice of theme nights is entirely democratic. If your trip overlaps more than one week, you can vote on 2 threads. Maybe we can first start threads for theme suggestions for each week, then post separate polling threads once everyone has voiced their suggestions? That should clog up the boards real good But it's ALL ABOUT the April Addicts around here...everyone else can go pound sand if they don't like having a whole page of April threads :aktion040: lol Yes, Donald, I am overthinking this, but I'm trying to keep everyone happy! :icon_razz:
