Everyone should be careful of this, we have been to TTR 8 times now and are avid travellers elsewhere, 2 years ago we were dinged for overweight at Cancun when we had WAY less coming back than going down, and I know people are going to say it was because of the "moisture from the clothing", well we take precautions for that, our travel agent said to be careful as she had heard that Cancun airport check in people sometimes but thier foot upon the scale behind the bag.
Exact same thing happened in Jamaica, and they would only accept cash for the overweight. Sad for tourism,,, one of the reason I won't go back there. Hopefully there not starting the same scam in Mexico. Air Canada is up to no good again,, walking off in Toronto,, Ba$t@rds
:aetsch004:We booked with Nolitours on an Air Transat flight. Pre-booked our seats and are ready to leave Friday morning at 6:15am!!!! This is our 2nd year booking with this company. Nolitours also price matched a Sunquest vacation which saved us over $900. No complaints here but will still keep my fingers crossed until we are on the bird, in the air and sitting by the sexy pool Friday before lunch......cheers!!!!! :aetsch004:
After two all inclusive sun vacations, 2010 to DR and 1st vacation to TTR in Jan of 2011. I'm done with the all-inclusive flight/hotel combinations. I had simular experience with Thomas cook chaning my departure time for my flight to TTR out of Toronto back in Jan 2011. This past January, I decided to use some areoplan miles to fly to Cancun and book the TTR hotel seperately which worked out really great for me. It gave me more flexibility for departure and return dates & travel times right from my home city instead of having to meet an excursion flight in another city. We do not have many all-inclusive options available out of the martimes outside of the spring peak season. I would definitely consider booking my flights and hotel seperately again. This is the way to go for me! ~ Smile ~ TTR Jan 2011, Jan 2012
The one draw back of building your own package is that if one part of your deal fails ( ie your hotel decides to go under construction or has a massive bug problem, or hurricane damage) and you no longer want to go to that place or can't ,, the flight portion is non refundable, as they are treated as seperate items by the travel company. Speaking from first hand experiences.
