Have had 3 days now to recover. Missing cancun already since today's weather here in baltimore is warm and sunny although it is actually warmer (90 deg) and more humid than it was our entire week down there... All in all one of our best trips down there. We had booked this trip last June with Woody and Sue ("the Woodman" who we met last April) so it was long anticipated. This was the first time we flew out of Philly-it was very nice having a non-stop flight each way. With an early morning flight, we chose to stay at the Quality Inn hotel airport on wednesday nite. Much better than waking up at 2:30am. Only glitch was that more than 20 flights were all leaving between 8:15 and 8:45 and we did not take off until almost an hour after our scheduled time but that was one of few glitches the entire time there. We were the only international flight landing in Cancun when we got there and we literally flew through customs. Got to TTR exactly one hour after we landed. Since this was trip #7, we knew what to expect upon arrival. Had to wait 2 hours to get our room, so we quickly changed and went to the sexy pool bar to get our first of many, many drinks (from Alfredo, one of our favorite bartenders). Immediately ran into Sergio (AKA the baldphucker) and exchanged holas y hugs y kisses. Woody and Sue who we met last year had gotten there 2 days earlier and already had made reservations for the next nites booze cruise. Actually saw Sue and Maria (another repeater from last April) waving at us across the pool. Woody was hob-knobbing around and he introduced us to the first of many people (Sean and Kristi) that we would get to know during the week. Stopped to get another drink and headed to Margarita's for lunch. We actually ate lunch there every day thereafter. Nice menu, good waitservice. Got to love the nacho chips, salsa and cheese. Shrimp cocktail was a treat as well. Finally got our room- overlooking the margaritas "courtyard". More drinks after check in, upstairs to shower around 6, quick "siesta" then downstairs to the Paty O' Lounge- more drinks from Oliver (another fave) then continued to meet people including Ed and Susan from Alaska and Bill and Cathy from Mississippi. Buffet dinner around 8p then Nice Shoes for the lingerie-casino nite. Fun but not quite as risque as previous years. Activities are definitely more tamed down. Ended up in the Sports bar with Pablo serving us rainbow shots... then the infamous late nite cheeseburgers...... Most of the days were carbon copies after that- sleeping in, omelets from Rosa and starting the day with Mimosas in the embacardero (sp?- aka the buffet restuarant). Bloody Marys, then Miami Vices, Anejo y Coca, etc. Joyce especially loved the cosmopolitans. I fancied the Johnny Walker Red. Having an insulated 24 oz mug made things alot easier. Sunning in the pool, watching poolside games, lunch in Margaritas, napping on the beach, drinks at the Paty O' Lounge (and of course the cheeseburgers). We did run into quite a few repeaters from our previous trips- Lisa and Ron & Dave and Lisa in particular. The latter Lisa screamed our names and ran over to us when she first saw us on saturday (really cool)! This was also singles week (where that was advertised, we don't know)- but all in all they were not over the top for most part (although one memorable event in Patty'O Lounge where a guy was dining at the "Y" ). We did get to meet a few of the singles and one of the single women adopted us as "parents"- she was trying to blow off a guy so we cordially adopted her as well. More Highlites: Sergio's friday night Booze Cruise. Just can't beat it for the $$ and fun. And Steve's Catamaran cruise over to Isla Mujeres, once again well worth it. Lots of drinks, tequila, boobs  and good times. Still haven't tried the spinnaker and probably never will. The activities staff is doing a great job (Charley, Taryn "T", etc) but Chinos and Lalos are definitely missed. And Lalos no longer even does the evening nite club trips from TTR - he got another job (something Oasis??) in cancun. Heavy sigh. "T" has emerged as the leader and does a formidable job- crazy darts and Tequila Volley ball are two of the few relatively crazy events that are left-over. Mr TTR and Miss TTR were fun to watch but were much tamer than previous trips. They were much more fun when held at nite! And no more "The Quest" (another heavy sigh- and that was tamed down from "Anything Goes"!). Only other "glitch" was getting a reservation at one of the specialty restuarants- we didn't know until 4 days into the week that you could make reservations up to 3 days into advance (something new), so when Sue went down on monday morning, all prime times were booked through the rest of our stay. Our apologies to other all the other fantastic people that we met, but the alcohol and heat has rendered your names from our memories  . Looking forward to trip #8 (hopefully in October for halloween!!) Pictures to follow. Ken and Joyce
Missed being there in April, first time in alot of years we have not been there on the 16th so how was it different than last April, missed seeing every one so much!! Terry
