    :)

    Greetings,

And even though I didn't agree with every thing you said in your post (though of course I think than a number of things you said are things I have thought as well)... you stated your opinion without insulting anyone.

    Kudos.

Thanks, Chris for the condescension in your posts. I and others don't need it but I am sure it makes you feel better and certainly superior. I am not sure when you were appointed the Kumbaya Kid here but it is ok--I guess. Keep trying to make people think and behave the way you want them too. It will help you in the long run learn that you can't.

I only watch FOX News when there aren't any new episodes of Simpson's or Family Guy :)

Find it very entertaining to say the least :)

The "news" factor of it is something I honestly don't give a cr*p about.

Fox is great for a lazy afternoon

Chris - You've managed to rattle Jim's cage, that's quite a feat! I've never managed to get him to disagree with me on anything...lol. And I think it's kind of cute how you entered this thread preaching tolerance and managed to start a spat about it, that's quite an accomplishment in a twisted sort of way.

I think at some point we'll all have to agree that we all see things from our own distorted points of view and that each of us has arrived at our distorted point of view honestly.

Life - I agree with your assessment of both Fox News and CNN 100%. Nancy Grace is just awful, but like a bloody train wreck I sometimes finding myself watching her despite my best intentions (maybe it's that hair).

I get most of my news by following newspapers on Twitter, also from Google News and the New York Times (and yes I'm a true blue bleeding heart liberal, so there).

ROFLMAO !!! Good thing I wasn't drinking anything or it would have been out my nose! A good laugh is a good way to start the day. Thanks!

BTW I watch Fox (both the news channel and for the Simpsons)more than any other channel probably except for maybe the History and Discovery Channels.
I just can't handle Nancy Grace either--like a female Glen Beck--masters of hyperbole both. How Godawful everything is!

When something serious is happening and/or when I want a world view instead of a sixth-grade level, provincial, proud-to-be-a-redneck point of view, I turn to CNN--the International version...the U.S. version is just trying for ratings by being a clone of Fox.

    Continuing the DIS-cussion! :)

    Greetings,

I would like to respond to everyone who was kind enough to continue the discussion. :)

    cancunwhoopie,

The fact that something may be a "personal opinion" precludes it from being a personal attack? That's an interesting take... *duly noted*

    RiverGirl,

It wasn't really my aim to rattle Jim's cage (or anyone's cage, for that matter)... I have always found that discussions about certain topics are better without a lot of vitriol in the mix. I came in "preaching" peace (a call to civility), but I am branded as having been "appointed" to something (the "Kumbaya Kid" - a sort of "who died and made ***you*** King?" - thing, I guess?).

I agree with the general picture you painted of things and appreciated your kind and honest assessment of your own biases. We all have them... including journalists. :)

    JiC,

I am not quite sure how to respond to your "thanking" me for the condescension in my posts. Surely whatever you might point to as evidence of my condescension I could find in your posts, but... it seems to me that it would be an exercise in futility (at least if logical consistency is important to you), as you ***seem*** to be telling me that I have no right to control people. That people aren't capable of certain things... are you trying to control me by using terminology like "who appointed you the Kumbaya Kid?" Is your advice, rather than being a "call to reality" (let's call it) a mandate? If so... what did someone die and make you? ;)

Again... all I was doing was making a request. I find that heated discussion fueled by personal attacks and vitriol often ***get in the way*** of the facts, and, thus, constructive dialog. It's an observation... which lead to a well-intentioned request... NOT an attempt to control people by a mandate from "on High."

I hope everyone has a lovely day.

    Chris (a.k.a. "The Kumbaya Kid")

    p.s.
I think that "The Car Czar" probably pays better. :)

I think I've heard Chris sing Kumbaya more than a few times...
