Mary Kay, You can get the big zip-lock bags at most wal-marts. We use them in our camper, they come in like a 4 pack for $6:00 There very handy for storing sleeping bags, and large camping stuff in... ARE YOU READY TO PARTY??????
Thank you Tim & Teres! I have to hit Walmart this weekend- so I'll put that on my list! I have most of my "gift" things together - Lotions and such from Bath & Body Works for the house keepers- things like that - I need to work on safely wrapping some liquor - and test and see how much of a beating it can take, in luggage--- and now I need to focus on some Vermont tee shirts and the like, for my favorite male cast members at BBG! Have a great weekend!!
I just came back from a cruise and you have to check them in with your luggage. HOWEVER, each airline has their own policies and they can remove it from your luggage with no questions asked if they want.
Mary Kay go to the local liquor store and ask to see if they have any bottle sized bubble wrap or shipping packaging. 7 trips bringing home booze and never a leak. I usually bring 4 or 5 bottles home too. Gonzo
COOL GONZO!!! Thank you for the info!!! I never thought of that!! And CDNTWISTOFF - thats great informatin too - thank you very much!! I'll remember that as I'm shopping!! 151 days seems like an eternity - but when its here it will feel like total heaven!!
Bringing booze home & Klaw Klaw is 100% correct on her first post on this subject. She did leave off that you can bring 2 liters per person back to the US. I taught her so well but she has been avoiding me lately. What's up with that. The important thing is that part about changing planes and doing the duty free thing. Since you have to clear security again after rechecking your checked baggage it is not supposed to be possible to do it this way. So you have to pack it in your checked baggage. Bubble wrap can be bought here or you can wrap it carefully in dirty clothes. I like to sort of make a package of the booze in a plastic bag. Even if you leave Cancun and fly non stop to your destination it can save you a bundle by buying your booze at Walmart or across the street at La Europea. I saw a bottle of Corralejo tequila for I think it was $375 pesos at the Duty Free shop and you can get it the WM or LE in the $180's. Don't tell anyone but you can get some very good Cuban rum at La Europea buy of course you cannot bring it into the US, legally anyway. Oh yeah. I do not believe that the airlines have differing policies on this issue. TSA is the rule maker and the airlines have to follow their policies. If you question an airline on what you can and cannot bring on board most will refer you to the TSA website.
