Beach News: Beach Replenishment Plan Announced
    22 October 2007

The local Cancun government has announced this week a project to replenish the sand on Cancun's beaches by the first quarter of 2008. The project will pump approximately 1 million cubic meters of new sand onto Cancun's beaches in an effort to replenish the sand lost by recent erosion due to tropical storms.
The project is estimated to cost the government 160 million pesos (roughly 16 million U.S. Dollars). We will put up-to-date info on this new project here on our beach blog as it becomes available.

they did do it last yr, but some beachs are down to 30 yards of sand again and some have none at all, its horrible still, the need to build an offshore wall so the waves stop eating the beach because it will just keep hapening over and over again until they put in a wall
