We’re back from another amazing trip, and met some new friends we loved hanging out with! Since we were there on a referral, we went through the dreaded Premier meeting...all told about two hours worth. We went over all of what is important to us and also what wasn’t. Once it got down to talking numbers, the responsibility was on me to determine what if anything made practical sense as far as buying in or not. In the questionnaire portion of the meeting we told him that at this time, my job allows for one and possibly two one week trips a year. The packages he started with made no sense at all, because at 7-14 days per year, there’s no way we’d use the days in the package. As he got down to the smaller packages, I’d just ask him to give us five minutes to talk it over. In that 5 minutes, I’d break down the offer into a comparison of what I’d pay through Orbitz or Priceline (or another referral) vs his Premier offer. In each case, we’d be better off dollar-wise through the booking sites. In the end, we couldn’t make the numbers work for us given our limited vacation time. I had told him at the outset that that would be a factor in the end, and it proved to be. We did not buy in, but should something change with our vacation availability down the road, we’d be willing to look at it again. There was no high pressure to buy, and he was never unprofessional in any way...we actually both liked the guy...I’ll misspell his name, but it was something like Hadelberto. At one point he left to bring in the infamous closer, but he was not available, so I missed out on that experience.
