Does anyone have any first hand experience with taking a mexican vehicle into the US? I find some information at the EPA website but I would like to get more from someone who has gone thru the process already. I am talking about a US citizen returning to the US to live with a vehicle purchased in Mexico while here on a FM3 for employment. A non-conforming or non-US version vehicle imported or driven across the boarder for permanent use in the US.
I inquired about taking a car back to Canada at one point. I found out that the Canadian Government will not allow you to "import" a Mexican produced car to Canada based on different (lower?) safety standards. I would think that the US would likely be the same.
