I agree in many respects they need to "Shoot first, ask questions later", however at the risk of alienating an ever widening group of people, both within and without (outside), when do they stop and say "OK how do we fix the damage we just created and when do we make amends to our enemy's" I do beleie and have said it many times within this topic that we do need to be in Iraq. I just believe we need to quit claiming that we are so altruistic and come clean. We are here for the Oil. Terrorists have decided to bring down the CN tower and many other Canadian landmarks, so far they have been foiled in their attempts. If they decided to hit Niagar Falls, they would knock out the power for about a dozen states and 3 provinces, about 50 million people, recall the hydro blackout of 2003. If they blew up the thorold tunnel they would knoock out North American internal shipping, wheat, coal, steel, etc., for years. Both of these attachs would take place on canadian soil and wreck the North american economy. Vigilance is the only method by which we will halt this.
Just like the Palestinians, there are many people that hate us because of the Anti-American media. I would absolutely not be surprised that there are many folks that hate us. Especially in the light that they portray us, I guess I can't blame them. But then again, it's a matter of perception. I can deal with that. All I ask is for a good time. Honestly you would be surprised when I tell you how I see this next election. I have to admit... I am only one man (one vote), which honestly means dick (nothing) here in the U.S. Just don't ask me to vote for Hillary.
Touche... I agree totally. Good points about Niagara Falls also. I am certain that it is a focus of both of our nations. I cannot escape the thought that it is a misfortune that we cannot live in peace across all of the continents. But with the risk of being classified as a right wing zeolot, ... there has been no peace since Cain struck Abel.

Military and civilian deaths since the start... http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/L1373281.htm Following are the latest figures for military deaths in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in March 2003: U.S.-LED COALITION FORCES: United States 3,019 Britain 129 Other nations 123 IRAQIS: Military Between 4,900 and 6,375# Civilians Between 53,194 and 58,797* # = Think-tank estimates for military under Saddam Hussein killed during the 2003 war. IBC says on its Web site that the figure underestimates the true number of casualties.
>Just don't ask me to vote for Hillary. Hey, I'm not asking ANYONE to vote for Hillary Oh, rumour has it Dubya is going to doa complete 180 on global warming in the next SOTN address. That'll be interesting. I might have to watch the Fox News coverage of THAT one.
Henry Crumpton, the outgoing State Department terror coordinator: The worldwide surge in Islamic radicalism has worsened recently, increasing the number of potential terrorists and setting back U.S. efforts in the terror war. "Certainly, we haven't made any progress," said Crumpton. "In fact, we've lost ground." He cites Iraq as a factor; the war has fueled resentment against the United States." http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16609997/site/newsweek/ These days Rami gets most of his supplies from the new American-equipped Iraqi army. "We buy ammunition from officers in charge of warehouses, a small box of AK-47 bullets is $450 (£230). If the guy sells a thousand boxes he can become rich and leave the country." http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,,1989397,00.html
C'mon Fletch, give a better come back than that, if you don't he'll never change his tag line. The media all have their own political spectrum and agenda. Your responsibility is to realize that, read different views and filter what seems correct and what is fabrication. Then do some of your own research from independant collaborators and decide your own opinion. Do not just agree with the media that happens to come from the same political spectrum as you do. Censored media a is what helps communism in some countries remain unchecked.
People on both sides of this argument are getting at least some of their info from the news. Not everything is true on the news, but not everything is false either. It the responsibility of the viewer to try to see though whatever spin they are putting on it and make their own conclusions. I personally think that Rush Limbaugh is one of the most hypocritical/arrogant/misguided/dishonest/ignorant people on the radio. But, there is occasionally some truth that comes out of his mouth. With his brand of neo-nazi rhetoric attached though.
drewbert- you don't get it- we are either safe, or not. you will be one of the first people that cries "we didn't do enough to make this country safe" the next time we get attacked; you want freedom, and yet you criticize the very methods used to ensure your freedom.
