rdubnpk The almighty dollar is America in a nutshell. The mighty will rule and the average Joe (me and others like me) are left to pay the bills and clean up the mess. I truly appreciate your comments.
If your not looking for trouble, trouble usually won't find you. You have to remember the State Department more or less laying a blanket over huge areas to avoid. When usually that area to avoid is very small within that area and the violence is targeted and not just random acts. Mexico issues in most areas is drug gangs vs drug gangs vs law enforcement. Not violent criminals targeting innocent tourist. Like any big city you do have petty criminals who do target tourist for theft usually. Be smart and you'll be safe with minimal worries. P.S.: Steve.......yeah I should've said certain areas downtown. Been downtown a few times at night and have felt safe. Usually go with locals so I know I'm not going to the bad areas.
I guess it is getting dangerous in Toronto. The U.S. Gov't has issued a travel warning to all American traveling to Toronto. Are you guys being that bad up there. LMBO.
Still no travel warning to Chicago though -over 50 shooting incidents just last weekend, resulting in 10 deaths.
*LOL*... that's funny... they're making a big deal about it up here too... basically if you want to be stuck in traffic or see some sites that are not open (CN Tower) then come to Toronto. If you're a protester stay home. *L* Cancun is as safe as any other city. If you think you're going to call your government and they're going to make you feel warm and safe you're on drugs *L*. They will over state the danger every time. Also, if you haven't been to Cancun you really shouldn't be giving an opinion on how safe or dangerous it is.
For a few brief moments of fantasy, I was thinking I'd have to cancell my July trip to see my elderly Mother in Toronto and head to Temptations instead!!!
You should come up and check it out for yourself *L*.. ... I think you guys are going to the "spring" fling in Niagra aren't you?
Santa Ana Boy, 17, Shot And Killed - cbs2.com Dont come to California! And whatever you do do not, I REPEAT, DO NOT visit Del Taco Boy On Life Support Following Del Taco Shooting - cbs2.com Hahaha Joking aside.. Murder happens everyday... white, black, hispanic, green, purple, Jew, it don't matter... I actually think Cancun would be safer, because the government is so corupt, and without tourists, the economy would be a whole lot worse!
I wonder how many of those protesters are americans? I bet they don't release how many americans get arrested for protesting at the summit. That would make us look bad.
I've been to Cancun about 10 times and have never feared for my safety. Everyone I have met has been friendly and helpful. It is my Desire to retire in Cancun. I've also been to Rocky Point, Mexico and returning there in October after coming back from Cancun in September. I refuse to let anyone scare me away from what I enjoy most, and that is traveling. Now, am I careful sure that goes without saying. Whether it be in Mexico or the USA.
