I am certainly not opposed to this adventure, I've only been to Mexico outside of the US (well, the casino in Niagara Falls, ON once also) If Ian goes, i will go.
Oktoberfest .. In Munchen.. This year... F*cking game on :lol: :lol: :lol: . Been to Munich twice ( although I think we did a day trip there once from Austria and cant fully remember it so I'll just declare two visits for now ) whilst a best mate of mine was working there. ( This has been talked about on here a few time's so I wont go into it ) but the actual Oktoberfest that takes place ( last week in september to the end of the first weekend in October) is truely world class. Massive beer tents ( that hold up to 12,000 people), quality lagers and beer served, proper , hard core meats on spits been served instead of pretzels and shite wings ( my mate went out from our beer tent to get me some roast hog we'd seen on the way in and turned back up with half a swan, it was f*cking delicious..... I tell you, if its got a pulse and is a legitimate target the krauts will shoot it, glaze it and serve it up in the blink of an eyelid...... if your a vegan you've f*cked it, bring some cress and egg sandwiches but dont show the locals ! )... Then there's the local history, drinking round the beer kellers in Munich town centre, then the trip up the into the alps to see the berctchesgarden, where Hiltler's old krone's made a bit of a last stand and to see the views he commanded from the plateaus up there ( I'd just like to add, I'm not a Nazi but you really have to see the views from this part of the world and appreciate now, not back thens antics. ) Great place, seriously.... http://www.oktoberfest.de/en/ Ian :lol: :lol:
Could be Austrian, alot of the students come across to earn big money as waitress's / serving wenche's for the festival and what with Europe opening up its borders :evil: :evil: , you may find a few more Polish and Albanians coming into the equation aswell. I've still got three of those 1litre stiener glass's left from the HoffBrau tent I err, aquired :wink: and use them daily when taking a drink of water to bed to stave off the multi trip downstairs for a glass of water..... Just got to tell my self before I fall asleep that If I reach for a drink in the middle of the night the glass of water weighs half a tonne and dont drop it :lol: :lol: Ian :lol: :lol:
If this is a goer then I will definately make it so. Dads 60th is 18th of Sept and were meant to be going abroad for that, I may try and confuse him that he's actually 61 this year and we did all the familly holiday celebrations last year innorder to get out of it. He'd find the funny side of of it really if he had all his marble's but after trying to raise me for, erm cough, 29 years I think he's given up....... Ian :lol: :lol: :lol:
