All "destination" Caribbean and Mexican resorts do this to some extent - the theory behind it is that in offering discounted rates in these areas it sort of compensates for the, usually, much higher cost of transportation and extended travel times from these areas compared to those coming from N.A. Of course the resorts still end up winning because those coming from a farther distance "tend" to stay longer ie usually 2 weeks average compared to the typical N.A. stay of only a week each trip.
Can anyone explain why it is that price per night for 10 nights, but if you take a night off or add a night it goes to £132?
without looking at their software ?? speculation ,,, the software looks at the block of nights your looking at and take the most expensive night X # of nights. ,, or they may have a special,, ie ,, rooms booked from x to x are at $ , booking out side those dates , you lose the discount. this has happened before, and the solution was to book 9 nights at the lower rate , and the 10th night at the higher rate on a separate booking.

The prices on our UK website are just for British Citizens and I can not guarantee if the provider/hotel will accept this booking. It happened before that the hotel charged extra the guest when they checked in as they were US citizens but the rate they booked was just for the British market. I hope this helps. We've used AR 4 times for TTR, but after being told about the reason for the increase in rates, wont be this time.
probably using AR as a discounter , now that the rooms are almost full all the time, they have increased the criteria for bookings add the 15% drop in the value of the CDN dollar ,, I think you will see fewere , or shorter stays from us speculation
