Oh dear .. Things not looking good for us loyal long time single BLUE bay/Temptation followers.. TRAVEL REPUBLIC have just added this to their description of Temptation ..." the hotel is couples only and will not accept bookings of male passengers traveling in single basis nor groups of gentlemen only. WHY OH WHY DO ALL SINGLES HAVE TO BE BLAMED FOR THIS BAD BEHAVOIR OF A FEW GROUPS OF IDOTIC MEN... this resort has been my escape annually for over 20 years... its the fab mix of nice singles and couples that as made the resort unique in its friendly fun atmosphere.........so very sad this is the end of an era..
We've met some great single men and women at TTR over the years, but what we had to endure on our last trip was soooo way over the top for us we'd prefer it would go couples only, which seems to be the direction things are headed. We're giving it a try again because we have friends that didn't think they were "ready" for Desire.
Funny, you don't look like a single male, or a group for that matter As has been stated to death, it appears that in the marketing and booking they are actively discouraging single males and most certainly large groups of single males from booking. As they have a large number of single owners they don't appear to be changing to couples only. Until the post something definitive I think the rest is just speculation, but I guess that's what we humans like to do. Also, it's interesting that these seem to be mostly UK sites so blame the UK singles for this!! kidding :biggrinbandit:
I've been to TTR 6 times in the last year and a half (and I'm in Houston right now waiting for a connecting flight there) and 4 of those were as a single man. From personal experience I can understand why they may be actively discouraging single men from the UK in particular, as these disclaimers haven't yet appeared on N. American travel sites. There have been several occasions where I have seen highly aggressive groups of men at TTR, and the common denominator has been that they were English, and from the rougher towns specifically.
Better off to allow singles and treat their behavior on a case by case basis. Be a lot more willing to boot people out of the resort. It is our experience that singles add a lot of fun to the party as most of the singles that we have seen tend to be very outgoing. That being said, we have only been to TTR twice and neither time did we encounter a large group of single men.
Thats exactly my point Dos Equis! Its ridiculous actually, its not the 'single' guys that are problems, its the 'pack of guys (kids)' that show up acting like the fools, and its not just from UK, I had a run in with a kid from Canada there with a group of others, he was rubbing up on a girl from the UK there with her boyfriend, while her boyfriend was at the bar I had to tell the kid to back off and have some respect... which almost escalated pretty quick I don't think you can eliminate the problem completely but the age (21-24) might be more of a factor then where you are from or who you are traveling with... "no groups" of guys would make most couples at the resort feel more at ease but again how do you eliminate that? I know two guys who are traveling together one gay one straight in Aug. and if I show up at the same time and book a seperate room does that make us a 'group'?
I was thinking we need an age restrictions for the resort.. but I started coming here at 25 and have meet "adults" who were 21... I have meet couples who acted like the people who you and I complain about when I was with a girl I just met. We told them we werent interested in swinging and still followed us and con one of my buddies into getting our room key and interrupted us... I feel your pain but dont know what the utopian solution is.
it states couples only ..so it doesnt matter wether I am female or male. even if single females were allowed, but no single men.. the vibe wouldnt be the same, I dont go to hook up... but its fun to flirt, and I dont want to do that with someone elses husband.. my group is made up of a large amount of respectful singles..males and females who have met over the years at Temptation and choose to go back every year around thanksgiving xx
The TTR Facebook page has been saying "adults and couples only" So it seems the verbiage is being changed a bit, probably to make it less appealing to large groups of single males. And while I hope they never eliminate the possibility for singles I have no problem posing as a couple with a male or female in order to get my TTR fix. ~Shawna
