" alpha rooms is covering the difference " What difference? A buddies ex works for a travel wholesaler... before she was an ex, we use to get a couple deals at cost... When they book blocks of 2k room, it still comes out a little cheaper than the "Alpha Rooms Screw Up" My guess is the screw up was that either Alpha Rooms or their providers probably ignored MAP policies, either by error or to blow out some additional inventory. I don't believe there's any refunding going on... The waiver is probably just the Resorts way of covering their asses and appeasing any other wholesalers or timeshare owners of improper business practices. Enforcing MAP policies over international borders is difficult... Throw in on-line retailers... and at times it could almost seem that it's strictly based on the honor system. Not the ideal way to run a business. If the resort doesn't show some type of remediation, it could create a snow ball effect where other retailers start dumping prices to remain competitive, wholesalers start demanding refunds and possibly compensation...
i did take advantage but havent been there yet ( we get therethe 30th) I called the resort and my reservation was in the books....besides signing a waiver did you get a hard time about anything?
Other than the waiver nothing else was different. Thought about a photo but I didn't have my phone with me. If folks are paid in full I can't see how they could come back and ask for more.
This was the best mistake Alpharooms ever made....wooohooo !!! Now...make it through the next 20 days...seems like forever !!
We will use ours this week coming up so I will let you know. How did they make you sign that, would have told them to screw themsleves.
