I just returned from Cancun last night and the weather was beautiful. I will keep my fingers crossed and hope and pray for the best.
Eric - Better not to speak too soon. Guatemala may not be the place to be. As of the 5 am today report, Guat seems about as vulnerable as Cancun. As of this moment it looks like all we will get here is rain and a tiny bit of wind. Let's hope that is what happens. Michael F. - Notwithstanding the fact that I left perfectly safe Florida 3 days early, on purpose, to get back here yesterday, when and if I ever evacuate, I am heading to Merida as my #1 choice for a quick escape by car or bus. Drewbert - I will never forget that drive, or attempted drive, up Bonampak after Wilma. All those poles just snapped like twigs and wires everywhere. It was impossible to drive from Tuium to Coba and stay on one either side of Bonampak. And then the big hole in Sears that looked as if some King Kong sized creature had just taken a bite out it.
