A few years ago we started travelling with carry-ons and doing the self service, to avoid the line ups and it really speeds things up. I know it might seem daunting to actually pack in carry-ons but a lot of people have started doing this. All I've come to realize is just how much stuff we would pack that wasn't necessary!
My wife is a retired airline employee so we travel standby a lot. Because of that we travel with just carry on bags most of the time but its hard to do going to Temptation.
