I'd like to know the answer to this too, we paid for the transfer through funjet but I dont want to be stopping at a boatload of hotels...would be interested to see what the average time is to get to TTR with all the stops. May end up booking the USA transfer if the one included is obnoxiously long.
We used Olympus last time, as booked with CheapCarribean. It wasn't too bad... I'd say about 1/2 an hour to get to TTR... It made 2-3 other stops. We'll be using USA Transfers this time though...
We have been there twice-both times a transfer was included in our package. The first time it wasn't bad as we were in a van and they only made one other stop. Last time it was a nightmare!! It was a large bus and it made 7 extra stops! When all you do is want to get there it is pure torture. I would say this added at least 90 extra minutes.
We booked USA Transfers also. Question: I have read several posts on here about USA Transfers stopping at Walmart so we can pick up some necessities. How does this work? Do you just ask them when you get in the car?
Okay so you pay the $55 to the first driver for the round trip? Do they give you a voucher or something for the trip back to the airport? What is a good tip?
We used the included transfer to TTR the first trip, not private but was direct. Quick ride. But just read up to 2.5 hours on a bus for some others? Eek I don't want to be on a bus for that long!!!
We have used USA Transfer every time. We did pay the additional $30 for a stop at Walmart/La Europa Liquor store last time. I am not sure we will do it again - we bought water/red bull at Walmart and ran across the street to La Europa for Grey Goose. Once I land, i just want to get to the resort and start the party! You pay the greeter (he is right outside the airport with a USA Transfer sign) for the total round trip transfer. It is $55. You should tip each driver individually. Definitely worth the money....they had us to the resort, non stop, in under 30 minutes of getting in the van! Ps....use the link here on CCC.
Everybody wants to get to the resort as quick as possible, but you also have to think ahead to the trip home. USA Transfers gives you a pickup time at the resort depending on what your flight time is. Nobody wants to mess around with extra stops on the way to the airport, especially if you have an early flight.
