This will be our 3rd time to Cancun and 5th total to the US-Kids-Aren't-Allowed Zone. We have always told the kids that Mexican law doesn't allow them any further than 100 miles south of the border...oh yeah, and that kids aren't allowed in Vegas. But I digress... Whenever we returned from a trip, family and friends would always ask: Did you go see any ruins? Did you go on a cruise? Did you go fishing? Our answer has always been, "If the *whatever attraction* isn't right next to the pool, we didn't do it." Though one time we snorkled at Xpu Ha and we both agreed it was a waste of time and totally killed our buzz. Never again. But we like partying our asses and swimsuits off at the pool. If tours are your thing, there are plenty to choose from just don't overload your schedule for your first trip to Cancun.
When you get through immigrations put your head down and walk straight out the doors...do not talk to anyone until you get outside and once outside only talk to your transfer/tour operator...oh and the guy at the drink cart to the left of the doors. D
