    Don't plan in advance

We just returned less than 24 hours ago from an 8 day stay and leaving the resort did not enter our minds until the last two days. Even then we felt like we missed out on the activities at the pools.

I ended up winning a free trip so we did the Isla Mujeres trip which left from Temptations at 10am and returned at 5pm. There was open bar on the boat a buffet lunch (although you get both of those at the resort), snorkeling, and time on the island to buy souvenirs which we liked because we were able to do a little bit of everything.

Honestly, don't book anything until you get there. We also heard that you could negotiate the rates down because of the low capacity at all the resorts in Cancun. We heard from people on our trip that they paid anywhere between $50-$80 for the trip each.

Word of advice: Make sure to go introduce yourself to others the very first day at either the pool or the bar (depending on when you get there). The sooner you say hello to others the sooner the fun will start. We met a ton of people while there and they made the vacation memorable.

We have been home 4 days but when we left Coco Bongos was only open 3 days a week. With you being there such a short time I would just stay at the resort. You are going to wish you stayed longer. DO NOT GO ON THE BREAKFAST TOUR AT THE RESORT they will ask you to go when you check in, it's a timeshare sell tour and waste a half a day of your vacation! Terry
