Chalk up another vote for Instead. My period showed up early, which was halfway through our trip. Luckily, I had packed some , so even on the Boobs Cruise or lingerie night, no one was the wiser.

you need a new doctor. Being on the pill at 40 is not something you need to be concerned about...especially for a short term reason such as scheduling your period for a trip.

 

ANybody know if "Instead" is available in Canada? Is it a prescription and where do I get it? I understand that it must be something like the Diva cup?

Instead is kind of like a diaphragm that you would get by prescription, and you don't put any spermicide in the "cup" part - but same concept as far as how you use it - also kind of like the Sponge (use/insertion-wise), if you remember that relic Didn't work as well for me as my problems got worse (hence the hysterectomy), but with a normal period it works just fine to hide the biological realities of that time of the month
